Kaiser

I seem to recall a poster on here threatening to remove somebody's eyes with a tea spoon.

The shoe-horn seems to be a development on this theme.

This has been coming.

Unfortunately, certain idiot fractions of our population have not wanted to have serious conversations about the reasons why, and shut down rational chat with accusations of racism.

That is the cold hard fact. We're now reaping the 'benefits' of that. It's going to get a lot, lot worse.

I'm wondering if this is one of those periods of unrest that sometimes happen or if this is normal from now on? Bonkers lately innit?

Re: Islamaphobic attack?
A shoe horn is an odd choice of instrument to strike terror in people, are there any reports of injured muslims having their feet forcible inserted into shoes?

Eerie, I appear to have gone temporarily off-message.

Fortunately a quick buzz in my electrified collar from the thought police seems to have got me back on track.

I think the general consensus is you are a massive racist for having those sorts of concerns, rios.

Re: Islamaphobic attack?
What is the media playing at? Have D-notices been issued?

The BBC have a front page piece on a bloke tasered at a mosque for waving a shoe-horn about - nobody was injured - they then associate it with the Finsbury Park incident (my word, not terrorist attack).

However, last night there was a brawl involving swords and machetes in stamford hill where (difficult to find evidence) a gang of young muslims shouting "Allah Allah I'm going to kill you all".

Is this all getting a bit strange?

I've just finished reading the book: The Way of the Strangers: Encounters with the Islamic State - Graeme Wood.

I recommend it, really interesting and the author/journalist has balls of granite and thankfully kept his head firmly attached to his body.

Contrary to popular western belief, many of these guys are deeply religious and know their Koran.

Newspapers often have an editorial policy or viewpoint but even the ones that do have guest columnists with varying opinions will have guidelines as to what is acceptable.
If only to stop themselves being sued.
Personally I like the idea of newspapers having some alternative voices as most people tend to wallow in their own bubble without listening to others
Not that anyone buys newspapers these days

How does the Guardian have an opinion? Surely it is not human and merely a commercial enterprise so, that means someone at senior level decides what you should read in it.

Sounds like a form of censorship to me...

We all see Piers Morgan's faked outrage when Tommy Robinson waved round a Koran this morning?

"Oh my god put it down!!! You're being insulting to people's views!!! Have some respect you maniac!!!"

Hahahaha.

Also funny when he told him he sounded like a bigot when he quoted William Gladstone word for word.

Great TV.

Re: Islamaphobic attack?
Booze, Phillips has a view on Isra'el/Gaza that is at odds with the Guardian line and thus she was out of place as a regular contracted hack. It was nothing to do with political correctness as such it is simply that her views and the Guardian's differ profoundly on several important issues. Like all national newspapers the Guardian/Observer have guest contributors who pose alternative views but to be a regular contributor you have to accept the ethos of the papers.

Sir Alf

Interesting article by Melanie Phillips in the Times a few weeks ago about how she was hounded out of the Guardian for not following the politically correct line they take.

A reason Le Pen Snr and Jnr (and Wilders) have got so popular is the shut down by the media of anyone with an opinion that is not considered politically correct. There's no obvious party in the UK who could cater for such opinions but throughout Europe parties are rising in such a manner.
